VISION

A society where persons with hearing loss (deaf), women and children with special needs can access related opportunities and services to improve their health and social development as their counterparts and are empowered to live a normal and healthy life.

BROAD OBJECTIVE/GOAL

To bridge the health and social development gaps between women and children with special needs including (but not limited to) people with hearing loss (otherwise called deaf) and their ‘able’ counterparts.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To serve as a model hearing, maternal and child health advocacy organization by re-integrating and rehabilitating persons with hearing loss, women and young children with special needs within the society

To mitigate the impact of living with hearing loss (or deafness) through the implementation of health and social development programs targeted at the deaf communities/individuals and their families

To prevent hearing disability through health promotion and education programs and other public health programs on hearing health prevention, care and related services

To promote inclusion of persons with hearing loss by developing corps of Hearing Health Advocates with the mandate of advocating, interpreting and mediating for deaf persons

To minimize the social impact of hearing loss by mobilizing support for hearing health services and technology for persons with hearing impairment/loss, especially infants and young children

To promote women and girl-child empowerment through targeted community development strategies such as advocacy, strategic communication, capacity building and other related activities

To promote the cause of under-served populations including (but not limited to) deaf communities, women, children and their families.
